Commodity Manager – Castings - to $130K

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Purpose: 

This position is accountable for developing the overall sourcing strategy of castings in support of the organizations business objectives. The individual will establish interfaces to provide support and include input from engineering, manufacturing and suppliers. The outcome of implementing the sourcing strategies will be a supply base for the product / commodity set that is world class in the industry in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

We are seeking a Commodity Manager who will:

• Manage all sourcing activities associated with the castings commodities.

• Create and implement sourcing strategies that provide a competitive advantage is key to success in the position. The outcome of implementing the sourcing strategies will be a supply base for the product / commodity set that is world class in the industry in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

• Be expected to deliver significant improvements in total Cost while also maintaining or improving Supplier Quality and Delivery.

• Daily activities include utilizing commercial relationships and supply base knowledge to aid in maintaining consistent daily production operations, as well as the core Strategic Sourcing activities.

- Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 5 years of Supply Management experience

• 5 years professional (post college) experience

• Negotiating experience

• MBA

• Project/Program Management experience

• Knowledge of Mfg. Processes (i.e. stamping, casting, molding, etc.)

• Knowledge of key elements associated with creation / administration of Contracts

• Ability to analyze Product Costs and understand underlying cost drivers

• Ability to prepare and deliver business presentations to individuals and groups
