Job Description
 

Position Summary:
Provide strategic and functional leadership to enable company to attain its business goals. Charged with driving the Logistics strategies, including Freight, Distribution, Warehouse and Materials Management for an $850 million business with growth potential to be $1.0B by 2011.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for Leadership and Management of the overall Material Planning and Logistics processes that includes three primary departments and two international distributions centers
• Responsible for total Inventory management and control processes across all businesses, including Inventory Management, Demand Planning, consignment, excess and obsolete material
• Developing and implementing comprehensive Material strategies, including Freight and Distribution Process, Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Partnering with parent company  in Europe and a joint venture to develop and deploy global supply chain strategies
• Define and Execute Warehouse and Materials Management strategies, organization, processes and projects to drive toward world class processes in Inventory, Consignment, Supplier Prioritization, Materials Planning and Demand Planning
• Define and Execute Distribution and Freight strategies, organization, processes and projects to drive toward world class processes in Complex Freight Movement, Traditional Freight Movement, Warehouse Management-Stocking Locations, Freight Rate Negotiation and establishing Freight Movement Systems
• Directs internal and external policies and processes to ensure an integrated system that meets internal and external customer requirements, minimizes total cost, maximizes effectiveness including conforming to established quality standards, and established inventory flow that is responsive to the needs of the business
• Drive the business wide system process improvements through managing multi-site locations of Warehouse and Distribution Centers
• Champion the digitization of supply chain collaboration through the implementation of advanced tools and planning systems (SAP-ERP, ARP , MRP Systems)
• Proven experience managing in a matrix organization
• Interface with Product Business Teams and functional organization to achieve business objectives and maximize cross functional resource prioritization and utilization
• Strategic and operational planning and implementation
 

Required Skills
• Bachelors Degree in a relevant technical or business field with an advanced degree/MBA preferred from a top tier school
• Ten or more years of Logistics, Materials, Distribution, Supply Chain experience
• Business executive first and foremost, capable of owning the strategy to broaden the business, a general management orientation, versatile in crossing a wide range of business, operational and functional areas
• Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong relationship skills; Proven ability to reconcile conflicting needs and obtain consensus from multiple views
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating with suppliers, writing contracts and interfacing with multi national senior management
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building Freight, Distribution, Materials and Warehouse Management process
• Remarkable track record in achieving world class Logistics and Materials Management, quality and process improvements
• Skilled at delivering significant programs on time and enabling enterprises to achieve growth and profitability
• Innovator and thought leader, a catalyst for change in highly competitive markets
• Strong leadership skills in people development with a proven track record of building and motivating great teams
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills and business acumen
• Established problem solver and facilitator of managing through problems
• Warehouse Management: Strategic decisions about warehouse locations, utilizations for regional prioritization, central distribution center coordination, and ownership process consistency and controls
• Materials Demand: Demand Planning and forecasting for all products for all facilities with monthly and weekly planning schedules and monthly coordination meetings for accuracy, validation, and modifications
• Inventory Management: Reporting and tracking for product levels, location levels, and consolidated inventories with ownership for process controls
• Transportation: Consolidated transportation and movement of all materials, including finished goods and materials between plants
• Delivery Coordination: Coordinate weekly delivery performance and tracking expedite situation, including coordination of resources from cross functions
• Experience in international business
• Strong bias for action and ability to manage in a fast paced work environment
• Demonstrated leadership in six sigma principles and techniques; Six Sigma certification preferred
• Willingness to travel 10% - 20% domestic and internationally
