DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN
With 23 manufacturing facilities and 4 Distribution Centers strategically
located throughout North America, client is one of North America's largest
custom manufacturers of consumer products.
We are seeking a talented hands-on individual to fill this high
visibility/high impact role within the company developing and implementing
supply chain strategies. Open due to growth of the organization, must have
the individual who desires to provide leadership and technical experience
that will dramatically impact the success of the organization. Strong
communication skills are required. This position reports to the Division
President.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
General Oversight of client’s Purchasing Department. Managing 300 +
Automotive Part, accessory and chemical suppliers. Manage freight, packaging
material, and misc. purchases. Development and Deployment of Supply Chain
Strategies as it relates to company business plan established by Executive
Team. Establishing the guidelines and procedures for the supply chain
department in a controlled and documented format. Adherence to financial
budgets for spending and inventory management. Active management and review
of inventory including slow moving, obsolete, and expired materials.
Contract and pricing management for all parts business unit oversees.
Oversight of transportation and costs related to freight services. Develop
and deploy systems and processes for Supplier Development. Development and
maintenance of PRMS (AS400) , forecasting, and MRP / ERP systems. Consistent
communication to management level at Automotive OEM’s (mostly Service
Parts/Aftermarket)
Capabilities Must Include:
Demonstrated experience in: Leveraging/optimizing supply chain IT systems to
drive customer service/inventory performance. Developing daily, weekly,
monthly and annual accountability to group and department. Demonstrated
leadership skills, experience building teams, and developing people.
Management of hundreds of suppliers. Demand Theory and material resource
planning\Advanced PC knowledge and skills. Ability to: Keep staff
accountable for initiatives Multi-task, prioritize and execute given
initiatives. Lead business for future success by constantly looking for
continuous improvement. Operate in a lean organization with little staff
support. Develop best in class repeatable processes. Promote process
improvement.
REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:
10 years of Supply Chain Management. 4 yr degree, with post-graduate
experience a plus, APICS Certification in Supply Chain Management highly
desirable. Advanced Supply Chain knowledge. Forecasting and MRP/ERP.
Understanding of macroeconomics, microeconomics, financial analysis, cost
accounting and business operations.
