Strategic Sourcing Lead, Indirect Spend.

Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Lead, Indirect Spend role works independently and cross-functionally to procure the best product and service solutions from suppliers. This position partners with a broad cross-section of internal Deluxe customers to ensure the best value, quality, and service arrangements are established with qualified suppliers, in order to accomplish Deluxe business objectives. The incumbent will provide leadership to the cross functional teams assembled for major sourcing efforts, as well as ongoing supplier management. You will bring leadership and internal customer collaboration in the development, deployment and execution of Indirect Sourcing and supply chain strategies.

Responsibilities & Skills
• Manages indirect spend category assignments through strong market and competitive analysis, creation of leverage and professional negotiations to secure the best cost, quality and service to meet business needs. Recognizes and appropriately acts upon supplier development opportunities.
• Assures analysis and review of internal customer requirements, product requirements, market conditions and supplier capabilities are built into sourcing strategies, RF(x)’s, supplier selection processes and on-going supplier management.
• Executes complex RFP/RFQ processes and Projects; collecting data, organizing and analyzing results, making or facilitating supplier selection and executing implementation.
• Performs ongoing supplier management required to obtain the best cost, quality and service on a continuous basis.
• Establishes and maintains expertise across a broad area of Indirect services and goods.
• Continuously searches for opportunities to further improve bottom-line company performance through strategic sourcing projects, supplier inventory management, supplier communications and quality, payment terms, value stream mapping, supply chain optimization, continuous improvement projects with suppliers, Lean, etc.
• Uses lean principles and practices to develop and support the implementation of process changes that optimize strategic sourcing and the value stream.
• Develops close working relationships with business managers to insure initiatives are prioritized and agreed upon, resources are appropriately allocated, barriers are eliminated and projects deliverables are achieved
• Actively seeks and engages in best industry and category practices and mentors other Deluxe sourcing professionals
• Effectively interacts with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and changes. Builds sourcing strategies, processes and organizational alignment that will deliver desired business results.
 

Required
• BA Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field
• 7+ years experience in Sourcing/Procurement
• Self directed professional with demonstrated negotiating and contracting expertise
• Proven track record working in a cross-functional environment
• Project management expertise and execution skills
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Track record of cost savings results
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical ability
