synopsis
A program
to transform BP Manufacturing Procurement and Supply Chain (PSCM) capability
is underway. We therefore need talented and experienced Procurement
professionals who are ready for the challenge of shaping the new PSCM
organization.
The Procurement Specialist will drive the effective management of
significant third party spend across one or more categories at the Cooper
River plant. The Procurement Specialist will help drive delivery and
implementation activities of getting value delivered to the bottom line,
driving behavioral change, developing new business process, measuring and
tracking performance and driving appropriate compliance.
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for implementation of the site
procurement activities based on assigned material and commodity
responsibilities working along with a other Procurement team members at
Cooper River. This Specialist role will take direction from the senior
Specialist at the site. This position may be focused on one or more of the
following commodities/services: inspection services, industrial cleaning
services, consulting services, or MRO. The day-to-day focus of this position
is the support of plant maintenance, operations and site services to
accomplish business unit manufacturing objectives as detailed in the plant's
and business unit's performance contracts.
The Procurement Specialist will be based at the Cooper River site near
Charleston, South Carolina.
Key
accountabilities
Develop
deep understanding of specific maintenance/engineering service commodities.
Aggregate the site requirements, negotiate contracts and lead procure on
behalf of the business for specific commodities (As mentioned above: This
position may be focused on one or more of the following
commodities/services: inspection services, industrial cleaning services,
consulting services, or MRO).
Work closely with the relevant strategic sourcing contact within the
broader A&A Procurement organization to leverage more value within the
specific commodities.
Be a team player and work with a motivated group of site procurement
personnel.
Be the preferred provider of procurement services to the business
maintenance, operations and site services.
Provide materials and services procurement expertise to relevant site
stakeholders.
Engage stakeholders in a constructive manner to further site and business
unit business objectives.
Provide procurement guidance, interface with the procurement network,
ensure compliance with The Procurement Handbook and support overall business
units performance plans.
Develop strong working relationships with all site support services,
taking the lead in utilization of these internal resources as well as
continually benchmarking externally to assure a competitive cost structure
in support of business goals and objectives.
Develop and report cost savings in support of Procurement goal of
reduction of 3rd party spend.
Proactively ensure proper purchase order generation, updating pricing and
purchase order header and text information to minimize the potential for
blocked invoices.
Review and manage site material and service contracts and develop action
plans to review and manage those contracts.
Support BP Cooper River after-hours and in emergency response as needed.
Support the management of the departmental costs to meet or reduce plan
performance budget.
Essential
criteria & qualifications
Minimum
3 years procurement and contracting experience
Bachelor's degree; Masters degree a plus
Solid computer system skills SAP, Excel, Access, Word,
Desirable
criteria & qualifications
Master's
degree a plus
Strong commercial skills and business acumen
Good understanding of the relevant supplier bases, organization and cost
structure.
Intermediate analytical skills.
Proven self-motivator with ability to network effectively.
Proven ability to create innovation with an openness to change.
Solid facilitation skills.
