This is a job summary which includes essential job duties of the position.
More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for
particular locations and facilities.
Directs and coordinates technical activities of injection molded components
suppliers and provides technical consultation in both tooling and injection
molding process. Position will also ensure internal technical foundation and
sourcing project support allowing flexibility in sourcing molded components.
• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the
procurement function.
• Maintains internal engineering document control system, ensuring that
proper engineering documentation is available and usable for all tools.
• Analyzes tooling capacity and publishes detailed reporting.
• Manages all aspects of tooling relocation projects ensuring lowest cost
and shortest new supplier learning curve.
• Conducts quarterly tooling maintenance audits to drive supplier efficiency
and sound inventory controls.
• Supports OEE implementation at components suppliers.
• Supports creation and maintenance of detailed tooling capitalization plan.
• Conducts quarterly audits of supplier's spare components sourcing
performance and strategy.
• Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.
• Prepares and submits Capital and Operational Appropriation Requests
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
• This position requires up to 50% domestic travel
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in purchasing/supply chain/business or a technical field
preferred.
• Six Sigma experience and/or certification preferred.
• 5 - 10 years minimum in a tooling engineering role preferably experience
in the injection molding.
• Proven experience with molded components supply sources
• Proficiency in CAD and/or similar tools
• SAP experience desired
Preferred Qualifications:
● Consumer Products Industry Experience
