Overview:
This position will report to our Tyco Electronics - CIS Business Unit - North America Procurement Manager and will have the primary responsibility of managing the Electronics Commodity. This person will interface with the Corporate Electronics Commodity team to ensure that the business units' strategy& goals are being effectively communicated. In addition this individual will monitor supplier performance and work with suppliers to continually improve performance. Other responsibilities include cost reduction negotiations, contract development, supplier process improvement, commodity business plan development, capacity management as well as other supplier performance/improvement activities & metrics.


Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree, Electrical Engineering discipline strongly preferred, MBA a plus
-7-10 years of procurement responsibility
-Statistical/Analytical background and strong skills in database creation, spreadsheets, etc.
-Familiarity with e-sourcing
-High competency in negotiations
-Ability to work in a fast paced, task-focused environment
-Working knowledge of MRP/ERP, SAP Preferred
-Proven Project Management Skills
-Ability to work seamlessly across functions and regions
-Purchasing or Material Certifications by nationally recognized organizations and/or membership a plus
-Proven track record of hitting cost reduction targets and developing a strong team environment
-Skilled at gathering and analyzing industry benchmark data / information
-Ability to multi-task complex issues essential
-Experience in Electronics industry strongly preferred.
