JOB SUMMARY:
Source, negotiate and procure goods and services from new and established sources of supply to meet

requestors requirements. Balance customer service levels, contract compliance, and costs within with

quality and quantity specifications. Perform other duties as assigned.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Negotiates and awards purchase orders for goods and services within
assigned commodities. Evaluates proposals/specifications and negotiates
purchases of goods and services. Independently awards POs for goods and
services within signature authority level. Negotiates product/service
delivery schedules.
2. Maintains supplier alliances, works with sourcing specialists to
assure supplier compliance with contract terms, and interacts with
requisitioners to prevent contract leakage. Supports MWBE programs and
initiatives.
3. Maintains relationships with supplier representatives in order to
remain informed about changing market conditions, sources of supply,
material specifications, costs, supplier performance and industry
developments.
4. Resolves invoicing, payment and related issues with Receiving/AP and
other downstream disciplines resolve day to day issues. Tracks
individual cost savings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong commercial focus.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Work planning skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience/Training:
- 2-4 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
- Knowledge of utility operations.
- Knowledge of procurement, materials management and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of PC software applications, including Access & Excel, lotus
notes.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP/Procurement system.

Certifications:
- C.P.M. or working toward achievement is desired but not required.

Required Education: Associates degree is required . Bachelors degree strongly desired.
