SUMMARY OF
POSITION:
This key member of the customer focus team is responsible for coordination
of supply chain replenishment and development of internal schedules to meet
customer deliveries and plant inventory turn goals. This individual provides
the required leadership to establish, maintain and improve scheduling
policies and procedures. Previous experience purchasing raw materials (steel
and sheet metal) preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Interface with strategic purchasing to establish supply replenishment
programs to support turns objectives.
2. Provide necessary leadership for all materials issues related to NPI
LAUNCH for new programs within CFT.
3. Identify and resolve all material constraints to support customer
demands. Assist in the identification and resolution of all other
constraint related issues (e.g. capital equipment, staffing).
4. Schedule equipment and work centers within CFT to assure final ship
schedule adherence. Coordinate scheduling activity between CFT’s to
provide optimal asset utilization.
5. Review MRP and work closely with other members of the CFT to determine
material requirements to support the production schedule and customer
shipments.
6. Place purchase orders and/or makes appropriate changes to existing
purchase orders to procure and schedule delivery of materials. Work
closely with suppliers to ensure scheduled delivery dates and
quantities are met.
7. Establish vendor performance metrics in conjunction with CFT’s and
strategic purchasing.
8. Monitor supplier performance within CFT to metrics. Interface with
strategic purchasing to identify supplier corrective actions and
required improvements to maintain supplier performance consistent with
Maysteel requirements .
9. Ensure timely and accurate disposition of non-conforming products and
ensures effective transition of EC changes and makes necessary
schedule adjustments.
10. Control inventories to minimize risk of material obsolescence.
Monitor product life cycle to reduce end-of-life inventory exposure.
Coordinates disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
11. Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales to ensure accurate and
timely implementation of EC changes.
12. Maintain current and accurate business operating system parameters
(safety stocks, order policies, buyer codes, etc…) to ensure proper
planning logic and accuracy of reporting.
13. Support achievement of world class Key Performance Indicators for CFT.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The position requires a business degree (B.B.A.) with 2-3 years experience
or equivalent education and/or experience. APICS certification.
SCOPE:
The job is responsible for the execution of scheduling and supply chain
activities to support inventory turns, customer delivery, and capacity
planning for a Customer Focused Team. Each CFT will provide sales of
approximately $10-30 million resulting in a purchased goods responsibility
of 4,000k –12,000k annually. This position works independently with little
supervision and without direct reports.
