Qualitrol is an independent subsidiary of Danaher.  We are the leading global supplier of instruments, controls, monitors and data access systems utilized in the electricity transmission and distribution industry.  Our business is broken down into two major product areas:

Asset Protection:  Precision instruments that support the control and monitoring of power transformer and related electrical apparatus.  Our products include thermometers, liquid level gages, pressure relief devices, pressure control products and gas density monitors.

Information Products:  Electronic products that support the remote monitoring and analysis of power transmission and distribution. IP products include digital fault recorders, transmission & distribution line fault locators, data concentrators, remote terminal units and annunciators.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Materials Manager will manage a small team of purchasing professional in the management of our supply chain.  This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the sourcing of materials and negotiating and implementing supplier agreements.  The Materials Manager will ensure that supplies are available for the manufacturing process and will improve the delivery of materials in order to strengthen the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

§    Ensure materials organization is contributing to the quality, delivery and cost targets of our plant.

§    Cross functionally manage and develop purchasing, scheduling, shipping, and receiving staff.

§    Solve materials problems that are negatively impacting production, quality, and delivery of products.

§    Pro-actively identify and implement opportunities to achieve PPV and other cost savings.

§    Drive the Low Cost Region Sourcing PD initiatives.

§    Improve supplier fill rates, quality, lead times to fit product mix and needs.

§    Lead, train, and facilitate the upgrade of the KanBan system to improve inventory terns and eliminate part shortages.

§    Interact with Danaher commodity managers to ensure best practices and greatest leverage in procurement, low cost region sourcing, supplier assessment and management.

§    Manage inventory.

§    Maintain and enhance plant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

§      BA or BS in Business or related field. MBA or CPM preferred.

§      5-7 years of progressive experience in planning, purchasing, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment preferred.

§      Internet auctions and global supply chain development experience are a plus.

§      Working knowledge of business process improvement process.

§      Familiarity with Kanban system a plus.

§      The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of personnel and production problems

§      Strong interpersonal skills and skilled negotiator; Action and results oriented.
