At FirstSource/PurchasingRecruiter.com, we've been recruiting purchasing, strategic sourcing and supply management professionals for manufacturing, financial services, healthcare and other industries since 1990. Keep a current resume on file so we can always alert you to new opportunities to advance your career in purchasing. You can also email a link to your personal LinkedIn profile. All resumes and profiles are kept in strict confidence and are never released without your permission.

Active or Passive Job Seeker?
If you are a Purchasing, Sourcing or Materials Management professional actively seeking a new position, please check our list of current opportunities. We encourage you to send us a copy of your most current resume together with a note or cover letter indicating what you are looking for in your next career move, and what your geographic preferences are. Also, please let us know when, where and how we can best reach you to discuss your career with you.

A Passive Job Seeker is someone who has little or no interest in changing jobs unless...the X factor(s) are present. These are the circumstances necessary for you to consider a job opportunity. The X factor(s) can be: a position at a certain level with one or more specific companies; a career advancement opportunity in a specific city or region to be closer to family members; a divisional or corporate leadership role opens in a specific industry or any other possible set of circumstances which you want us to track and, if an opportunity matching those criteria becomes available, to contact you immediately. Because we are in regular contact with hundreds of corporate hiring managers nationwide, we see and hear of opportunities you may never become aware of without having us act as your "search agent".

Yes, you can remain anonymous!
We fully respect a job seekers concern for privacy and confidentiality - even from us! Whether you are just testing the waters or actively searching, but are concerned about your employer or colleagues discovering your intentions, we encourage you to provide us with a confidential/blind resume. Simply remove your name, address, phone numbers and current employer's name from your current resume. As long as we have a current e-mail address for you, we can reach you.

Services for Job Seekers

FirstSource/PurchasingRecruiter.com are engaged and our services paid for by client companies. There is never a fee to job seekers.

If we have a resume or confidential profile on file, we will alert you when appropriate job opportunities open. Only after we discuss a position with you, and we both agree that the position is a good match, we will present your resume to our client together with our assessment of you and a marketing presentation to make certain that the client has valuable insight beyond what can be read in the resume.

We will also follow up with the client to request a telephone or in-person interview that is convenient for you and the client; assist in coordinating any travel arrangements; give you a detailed refresher course in proper interviewing techniques and etiquette; inform you of the client's intentions after an interview; typically, present and negotiate any job offers; coordinate and confirm start dates; assist with the coordination of relocation; and follow up with both the employer and the candidate for six months to make sure the transition has met everyone's expectations.

We are not just reactive, we are proactive as well. If you are open to relocation, tell us what the ideal next career move is for you and where you would be willing to relocate to. We will contact appropriate hiring managers to make them aware that someone with your skills and experience is seeking an opportunity in their area. We have many clients who are very receptive to learning about highly qualified potential employees planning to relocate.

For Job Seekers
News

The second quarter of 2011 is off to a very good start for purchasing and supply management job opportunities.

  • With grain prices rising due to weather events around the world and other factors, farmers are more optimistic so our agricultural equipment and chemical/fertilizer clients are doing well and hiring.

  • Major infrastructure and mining projects in China and elsewhere are helping create many job opportunities at our construction and mining equipment client facilities.

  • Although the military is scaling back some spending, our clients who manufacture the next generation of military trucks, vehicles and also personal protection equipment are hiring as a result of large new orders.

  • While our utility-scale solar and wind energy equipment manufacturing clients have suffered fits and starts over the past two years, some of our European clients are betting big that the technology and systems they've developed for smaller scale application there will work here in the U.S., and are hiring for new and expanded facilities in which they are investing several billion dollars.

  • Our clients who manufacture oil and gas extraction equipment including pipe, pumps and monitoring devices as well as exploratory equipment are gearing up for another busy year.

  • Several new positions at the Director and Commodity Manager level are opening in plastic and paper packaging manufacturing and at consumer product manufacturers revamping the packaging of their products.

  • IT and services spending is increasing at several of our non-manufacturing clients creating new job opportunities.

Think positive everyone. Inventories of both raw materials and finished goods have been depleted during this recession, so purchasing and supply management job opportunities will continue to increase as manufacturers reaccelerate.  Remember, we often conduct confidential searches for our clients so not all positions are posted. Let us know what positions/locations would interest you.
